Sharing a Smile While you Crochet or Knit

Saw this early the other day on Facebook, thank you Cheryl S for posting it and it started my morning off with a bang, so thought I'd share it with you all in hopes of putting a smile on your face.  How true this is of some many of you fine folk....someone should come up with a knitting appropriate one...hint hint.  Some of your more creative with words folks...sing out if you come up with something.

Hope you're all busy with yarn, needles, and hooks.  The need is great, and the weather has turned.  Trying hard to fill 2 requests we've recently gotten and would like to put a call out for an emphasis on things sized and color appropriate for Men...always our biggest need.

Thank you all.

  1. Working hard here to do my part. Yesterday being Veterans Day made me think of all the men that served our country who are now living under bridges and in shelters. Doesnt seem fair somehow, and we should all be working to do our best to at least make sure they are warm and fed. Dont mean to be preachy, it just hurts my heart. 12 degrees in Minnesota this morning.

  2. You are not being preachy Marj. You suffer from a condition known as a BIG heart. You are also right in that we do far too little for our returning vets. My husband is a Vietnam vet so there but for the grace of God go I. He has been one of the lucky ones. Thankfully! Here at B&B our gift /talent is knitting and crocheting. We need to be as busy as possible with our needles and hooks and some manly colored yarn and extend our gifts / talents to those wen under the bridge. Together I know we can help one hat (mittens or scarf) at a time.
Sandy I will be putting my box in the mail either today or tomorrow. So I think you should be getting it sometime next week.

  3. Thanks for understanding Sally. My husband was a Viet Nam vet also, I guess we know first hand what that means. Something else we have in common. The need to give back and appreciate the service of our returning vets. love :+)
