Iris and Lillies Afghan Complete

View one of Iris and Lillies completed, it's been laundered and blocked.
View 2.  During the progress of this ghan I had people saying they liked or didn't like the yellow and blue, and or they liked the swirling black and white squares.  The ghan is yellow and purple, and the swirls are a dark purple and mellow yellow like the mellow yellow used to edge and join after the initial purple round.  Purple often just doesn't show up right, color wise on the computer so thought I let you all know.  Iris makes me think of dark purple and Lillies bright yellow.

This ghan has squares from lots of different hands.  Once everything was edged I joined blocks of 4 (a little different process), then joined 2 blocks of 4 to create a section.  If you look, you'll see extra rows doing it this way.  It used about double the amount of yarn normally used for edging and joining, but I thought it needed a few more inches.  Finished it with a ruffle and another round of purple.

Like all our ghans, it will make it's way to The Homeless Families Foundation to be a part of a Welcome Home Package.

  1. Sitting in Minnesota waiting for another round of snow in the winter that will not die, this is definitely a pop of spring. Iris are my favorite flower. Hope to see them soon. Like the ruffled edge too.
