Sandie in warm Florda loves to knit (loom) hats and donate them for the cold in need homeless in Ohio, and I'm soooooooooo glad she does. Once again, she's made fabulous hats with such interesting color combinations. Thanks bunches Sandie. We've had another cold spell here, even though it's June we've hit record lows for this time of year so I know those living outdoors in the elements are still wearing hats and scarves at night.
5 more days for our June cotton cloth focus, then will swing into July which will focus on squares. Please check out the directions, working calendar, and frequently asked questions in the tabs across the top of the blog.

Yeah! the package got to you. My PO is a bit unrealable at times. I hope our friends like the colors and the hats keep their heads toasty! Sandie in frying dry FL
ReplyDeleteLove the hats! Really admire your tenacity to make warm hats in Florida heat!!! You rock!
ReplyDeleteLove the hats. I have to try this and then teach my kids so they can help me use up my yarn! Sorry you are dry in Florida. We are flooding here in ND.
ReplyDeleteThanks, guys. Yes, Yvonne -- teach the kiddoes to do this. It's really fun and quick. It's slightly simpler and faster if you use single yarn rather than double, but I think the nice squashy double is warmer. And Sandy wait until you see my next box -- it has THE most colorful hat I've done so far! Hugs all round -- Sandie in Fl where it's thundering
ReplyDeleteSandie in FL, the hats are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSandie, you did a wonderful job on these hats! (as always)Some folks will have warmer heads and be very proud to wear them all at the same time. Keep on looming!!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! What beautiful hats!! GREAT JOB!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job, Sandie! THIS Sandie is just learning to loom. I bought one of those long thin ones yesterday. Do you use worsted yarn or chunky for the hats?
ReplyDeleteHi Smiling Sandie.... I use a round peg loom. I know (think!) you can do the hats on the straight peg loom too. I have the straight one, but haven't tried it yet! I use double strands of worsted, but if I have chunky a single strand will do. Sometimes a strand of worsted AND a strand of chunky. I just judge the "warmth factor." Nothing the wind can blow through. Have fun -- let's see your product soon! Sandie in slightly damp and humid FL
