MORE! Hats and Scarfs = More Warmth!!!

You people Rock! Totally and completely rock! More wonderful warm items received today via my favorite postal worker. He's asked about all the boxes and pouches I get and hubby told him about the project. So.......he takes extra special care of all the packages all you wonderful folks send my way for our folks under the bridge.

Another beautifully crocheted hat from Sandie. This is made with a new type of yarn. Or at least new to me. Soy Wool Solids from Patons. It has a really nice feel to it, almost silk like. No one would ever guess it's wool. As always Sandie, many many thanks, someone is going to be very happy to receive this hat. Hat #115

From Eboni (mzundercover on Rav), 2 sets of matching hats and scarfs; both knitted. A blue set and a really nice dark green set. I've looked for some yarn that nice dark green, unsuccessfully I might add. It's yummy. Thank you bunches, they are both beautiful and I know whomever receives them will be thrilled. Hats #116 & 117, and Scarf #50 & 51

I'll be making another delivery, very soon with all your wonderful items.

  1. actually ... the blue set is crocheted! and that lovely dark green yarn is cascade 220 superwash (color number: 865). it's very nice yarn, and it has made my short list of favorites. i will start on some more goodies soon ... can't wait!

  2. The blue one is crocheted...wow, how did you get that neat looking rib effect? And now a dumb question, perhaps...Cascade? Is that the brand of yarn? I'm not familiar with it, but really like the feel of it, thick spongy and it had a nice sheen to it.

    Thanks bunches,
    Sandy

  3. Beautiful!!! I finally finished my hat and scarf set last week, but it was too gosh darn cold to leave the house to get them out to you! I might try to slide out on Sat, otherwise I will get them in the mail on Monday!

  4. I didn't see an answer to your question and I know this was two years ago, but I learned that Cascade is a wool yarn. It was suggested to me for military hats. The soy yarn used for this hat was lovely to work with.

  5. I think I learned that later too Sandie. We've come a long way both with donations for the homeless and with what we learn along the way.
