Crocheting for the Good of Others

Look at these lovely scarves from our friend Lisa!  She's been very busy with her crochet hook making scarves to warm those in need.  She's crocheted a variety in both size and colors, something for everyone.  Thank you for caring for Ohio's Homeless, Lisa.

She's also crocheted an afghan!  LOVE the colors Lisa.  This afghan will be so well received.  It's nice and warm, and big enough for a man, or woman, or couple of teens in a household.

Many thanks for your generous donation.  Please know you are making a difference, an important difference in the quality of people's lives.  Please keep up the good work!

Crocheted Hats, Slippers, Scarves and More Help Homeless

Thank you AnneMarie D for this awesome donation.  So many goodies to help Ohio's Homeless in need.  She's been very busy, as you can see with crocheting has, fingerless gloves, slippers, scarves and cotton wash cloths.  AND she's included socks in her donation as well.  Many people will be helped by AnneMarie's generous donation.

As always, keep up the good work and know what you do, does indeed matter and does help those less fortunate.

While the weather is starting to break and warm up a bit here in central Ohio as I type this post, we've not yet passed the frost safe date and we will still have plenty of cold damp nights, so your warm items are still needed.

Colorful Crocheted Donation

Thank you Sandie P from Louisiana for this fun colorful crocheted donation of strips.  Lots of color, lots of strips.  I'll be joining these to make a fun afghan, so please stay tuned to see it's progress.  Still debating about what color I want to use to edge and join it.  First impulse is black....will look, I think like stained glass.  Will lay this out side by side to determine what order I want the strips in and perhaps lay various colors of yarn along side to determine what color I'd like to use to pull it all together.  But, as always open to thoughts and suggestions from you all, so please chime in below in the comments.

As always, Sandie's work is beautiful and I look forward to playing with these fun colorful strips.  Many thanks Sandie and please keep up the good work.  Together, we here on Bridge and Beyond can make an important difference in the lives of many.

Knitting, Crocheting and Donating Helps Homeless

Look how busy our good friend Sandra R has been!  I really think her crochet hook and knitting needles must be smoking with the speed she has.  She’s donating, hats, scarves, mittens, and you know how excited I get when we get mittens!  AND continue to look, so many nice colors, a wonderful variety of sizes and colors to warm many people in need.  Am typing this on my ipad so am having some spacing issues.  Normally I would type between each picture, but am unable to do so today....Thus the post is a bit lopsided with text here at the top and then pictures following, but please do keep scrolling to see the other two pictures of Sandra’s wonderful and very generous donation.  AND the afghan......so very nice both in size and color.  Some one is going to be very happy to receive it.

As always Sandra please keep up the good work and know you make a marvelous difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

A Dozen Hats Equals 12 Big Smiles

Thank you Janeene for your wonderful donation of hats.  A dozen hats makes 12 more people more comfortable.  Hats are used all year long, even when the weather may be nicer and warmer.  When you’re in a shelter situation it’s often not all that warm, so hats are still needed....and if you’re out in the elements, hats can help keep you healthy.

We knit and crochet and donate all year long, the need really doesn’t go away.  Many shelters like to stock pile donations in the warmer months to be ready when fall hits; so please folks keep you hooks and needles busy as we start to enjoy nicer weather around the country.

Knitting and Donating Helps Homeless

Thank you Theresa A for this thoughtful donation of knitted goodies.  Theresa has included hats, slippers, and cotton washcloths in her generous donation.  The cotton washcloths are the always popular corner to corner design.  The hats vary in size and style, as well as color.  Though the weather has improved with warmer temps during the days, it’s still quite cool and damp for those living in the elements, so the need for warm items continues.

Thank you Theresa for your generosity, please keep up the good work and know you are making a difference in the lives of those in need.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
