Crocheted Scarves and More for the Homeless

Fun cheery colors in this little stripped rectangle.  This was crocheted and donated by Ann M.  I've layed this aside and will look through my stash on down the line for appropriate colors to make this little rectangle into an afghan.  Initially it would seem these colors would make this appropriate for a young girl, or teen, but who knows how it may change want's it morphs into an afghan.  Stay tuned folks.  I've got a few ghans going at the moment so this will be down the line.
Likewise these 3 squares/rectangles.  Hopefully the darker blue can become a more male afghan...or at least initially that's what pops into my head.  I'll have to play around a bit with the other two when I take a look at my stash and see how they progress....
Ann's been busy making scarves too.  Love the dark colors in the upper right corner.  They'll work for either male or female.
She's also included some smaller ones for the younger set.

Thank you Ann, please know you're making a difference.

Knitting with the Loom Helps Ohio's Homeless

Thank you Karen N for this thoughtful donation of knitted goodies.  Karen N is our newest pair of helping hands.  We're thrilled to have you join us Karen and hope we'll see you here often on Bridge and Beyond.

As always, folks remember you can click pictures to enlarge them so you see details better of the wonderful donations folks send.  Karen has sent quite an assortment, cotton washcloths (upper left corner), hats of several styles (some with ear flaps for the younger set, knitted on looms), mittens, slipper socks and a Christmasy scarf.

She's tagged items with size, which is always so helpful.

Thank you Karen!

Knitting in Tennessee Helps Ohio's People in Need

Thank you Anna W from Tennessee for this awesome donation of knitted goodies.  Anna is our newest pair of helping hands. She's knitted matching hats and scarves...in nice dark solid colors that work well for either men or women.  Thank you Anna for taking the time to package them so nicely as a set.  I've opened one, the blue one you see below in order to show you how nice they are, and the black set in the first photo far right.
I love how nicely sized they are so that someone can really wrap up in the scarf to keep warm.  I fear as busy as the squirrels have been, we're in for a hardy winter which will be very hard on our homeless friends.  She's also included the two hats in the first picture and a pair of very nice wrist warmers.  These wrist warmers are long enough they will really help keep arms warmer.

And then there's the two fun multi-colored scarves which are made, I think like a tube?  They're doubled in thickness, so perhaps made in the round...or knit double wide and folded over.  Either way, they are extra warm in their design.

Thank you Anna, we're thrilled to have you join us here on Bridge and Beyond and look forward to seeing you often.  Please keep up the good work.

Crocheted Donations from Delaware Help Ohio's Homeless

Thank you Joy D for this awesome donations of super warm and soft hats and scarves.  There were two pictures, and something happened to the 2nd picture.  As my note indicates Joy, my high school, crocheted and donated 12 scarves and 20 hats in total.  This is the 2nd of the two pictures.  My notes indicate the first picture (there were two boxes of donations) were 8 scarves and 10 hats.

So sorry you're not able to see the other picture, as Joy's work is always so nice.  She always uses nice dark colors, and look how neat and tight her stitches are...which makes everything nice and warm!

Thank you Joy for spending your time in Delaware to crochet to warm the homeless here in Ohio.  You truly make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate.

Please keep up the good work.

Back From Italy.....Donations to Process

Such a pretty, peaceful Monet.  Thought you all might enjoy it.  Reminds me of some of the pretty scenes I saw recently while on a tour in Italy.  Just got back in the country last night and am playing catch up.

Took about an hour today to open and sort all the mail that was held during my time away.  Got several boxes of donations, which I'm hoping to get processed in the next couple of days.  Many thanks to Joy D and K. Netzley for your donations that arrived sometime while I was away.

Please check back in folks.

Crocheted Scarf from Louisiana Helps Ohio's Homeless

Thank you Sandie P, our good friend from Louisiana for super warm chunky crocheted scarf.  I love color, very pretty.  Despite it's being pretty, it's quite suitable for a man or women.

Sandie, as most of you probably know has been a long time supporter of Bridge and Beyond and Ohio's homeless.  I know some of you may remember she and I became acquainted way back during Katrina, in a charity to benefit those folks.  So with all the hurricanes currently in the news, it makes me think of how long we've known each other.

Thank you Sandie, for your long time support and please keep up the good work.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
