Buckeye Ghan in the Works

Sometime back received this small red rectangle and laid it aside thinking it was too small for a blanket, but would certainly be a good start on one.  Initially thought it would make a nice center for a Christmas Ghan and I do have some squares appropriate for that; but.........then as I was organizing some stash....I was reminded of Buckeye colors and decided that made more sense for this time of the year.  And so, here's a little beginning.  I have found the plan gray and the variegated red and gray.  Pretty sure there's some dark gray and probably black kicking around somewhere on the shelves with my huge stash.  I'll get started with what I've found so far and go from there.

After all, Buckeye Colors are good all year long.

Will keep you posted, as this Buckeye Blanket Grows.

Green Valley Afghan Donated

Green Valley Afghan now completed.  You see it here as it's laid out to dry...being blocked after being laundered.  Took me a little longer than I hoped to finish this one, ran out of green yarn and had to search through my stash to find something that would work.  It's not the exact same color, but it was so close even I have a hard time telling where I had to change.  The ghan is nice and warm with primarily solid stitches and the size is excellent for a family's use.  These colors are bright and cheery and do remind me of colors in a flower garden.

Hope you're all stick busy working on goodies, as the nights are still quite cool here in central Ohio and the need does indeed continue.  We've not yet passed the freeze warning date and most people haven't planted flowers yet.

If you're new to reading this page, all the afghans are donated to Homeless Families Foundation as part of their welcome home pack.  When a family transitions from shelter living to a permanent housing situation, they are given a Welcome Home Pack which includes our afghans.

Crocheted Hats and Scarves for Ohio's Homeless Donated from New York

Thank you AnneMarie from New York for your on going support of Ohio's Homeless through your generous donation to Bridge and Beyond.  Love all the variety in your hats, both with size and color.  You and your crochet hook must not sleep!

AnneMarie's crocheted and donated hats and scarves with this donation, AND she's taken the time (thank you very much) to attach the sizes to the hats!!  Attaching tags for size helps lot of folks beyond just me.  It also speeds up getting the donations to the right people because it saves me time sorting and guessing size and it saves the volunteers at the various shelters.

Please keep up the good work.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
