Hats warm Homeless Heads

Thank you Louise, as always your knitted hats are adorable, pretty, super soft, and soooooooo well made. 3 more heads will be warm because of your continued support. We appreciate your donation and hope to see you here often on Bridge and Beyond.

Folks I want to encourage you all (bloggers and non bloggers) to leave comments on the blog. Comments help the blog with search engine optimization and everyone who knits or crochets and donates appreciates nice comments on their lovely work. If you're not a blogger, simply type your comment, click the drop down box and select name and url. Leave the url space empty. Please refrain from using anonymous. Anonymous often ends up in the spam folder and it doesn't tell us who you were or that you visited.

Just a little over a week left in January's focus of mittens. But, remember we need and collect mittens all year long. Check the working calendar tab for next month's focus.

2012 Donations:
Hats: 38+3=41
Scarves: 5
Slippers: 1
Shawls: 2
Misc Items are not counted individually (such as personal care items, headbands, yarn, etc)

All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated, and all donations keep someone warm. We help, one stitch at a time. YOU truly DO make a difference. THANK YOU!

Sweet Softness for the Homeless

knitted childrens hatsSWEET...can you think of any better word to described these adorable pink children's hats? And look at the cute heart on the white and pink hat. Remember you can click any and all pictures on a blog to enlarge them and see them better. These fabulous hats are knitted and donated by our friend Louise out in California. Way to go Louise. As always, your work is fabulous. I asked her what yarn she used and she wasn't sure she remembered but listed 3, and from that I would guess she used a baby sport. You can feel them,...really you can...look at the picture and reach out. See what I mean. That's how soft and lovely they are.

May is now officially over, wow...where does the time go. So, since this is June we're now into our cotton cloths focus. If you've not been to the blog in awhile, please spend some time looking around, as I've added some new things. A working calendar which shows our focus for each month. For new folks, please please read the what you need to know tab across the top and then if you have questions email me.

We are still rollin along with our comment contest...you've got til June 15th to chat/comment your little heart out. Click in the sidebar or on top tab to read about it. Surely you want a chance to win a shopping spree at JoAnn's! Get busy folks, times ticking away.

HATS, hats, HATS

knitted hatsSoft wonderful warm hats. The kids will love these knitted hats from our friend Louise out in California. Doesn't the one on the left remind you of Easter Eggs? First thing I thought of when I took it out of the pouch.
knitted hatsAnd the ladies will love these warm hats. Look at the cute details (remember all pictures get bigger when you click on them.) Louise sent 2 pouches and they arrived on the same day. I opened and photographed one then noticed the next pouch was her's too...thus the 2 pictures of 3. Thank you Louise for your on going support, it is greatly appreciated.

Hey folks have you noticed in the blog posts and on the lists (particularly the non bloggers list of names), I've been adding what state you're from? I thought it might be fun to see where everyone is from and how widely spread our wonderful knitters and crocheters are. AND, with the fabulous increase in new helping hands we have some duplicate names...AND as we grow my ability to keep people straight in my mind needs some help. The number of donations that come without a note causes me to really search through old emails etc to try and determine who sent the thoughtful donation. So, if you're on the list and I don't have the state you hail from, please leave a note I can add it. Let's have fun seeing where everyone is from with this, as well as improve my ability to let people know sooner that their donations have arrived.

Knitted Comfort for Homeless

knitted hats and squaresKnitted hats, and squares from Louise. Look how cute, how soft. The yellow square has a clover, and the white square spells out love. How awesome is that! Many thanks Louise for your continued support for the cold homeless here in Ohio; it is so very much appreciated.

I'll be adding these squares to others received keep you all posted when I design another ghan. As you read this 2 more are in the works. We're making wonderful headway in our quest to make ghans for women and children living in temporary housing at Faith Mission where their needs are great. Many of these Mothers and children were abused, some were homeless; but all are in need. For the months of Nov. and Dec. we're accepting squares to assemble ghans for as many of them as we can. Please see details in the sidebar titled Give a Square.

Warming heads of homeless, a Very Important Necessity

knitted hatsLook at these fabulous knitted hats. They are sooooooooo soft, and such pretty colors too. Thank you Louise-- 2 little girls will be thrilled to have those darling multi-colored hats to keep warm, and 2 boys likewise with the 2 blue ones. Very nice indeed.

These hats are so nice and stretchy, more so then some I've knitted, am wondering is it because of the yarn you used Louise...or perhaps because you used a smaller needle? Very very nice.

Welcome to our group Louise, we help people one stitch at a time. We're happy to have you join us as the newest pair of helping hands.

Thank you for your thoughtful donation.

Tell someone about Give a Square, post our badge on your blog, help us spread the word.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
