Personal Care Items Always Needed at the Shelters

Thank you Dianne L from California for this thoughtful and always appreciated donation of personal care items.  Dianne has donated lotions, shampoo's, lipbalm and other necessary items.  The personal care items are needed by all the shelters we supply, as well as the folks living under the bridges.  Think how dry your lips and skin get, even when you have a roof over your head and how much these items are appreciated by those in the elements, as well as those getting nights here and there in the shelters.  Thank you Dianne.
Having just gotten back from an out of state wedding followed by some vacation time, I too was able to toss some items in collected from the hotels.

Thanksgiving is approaching, please keep those less fortunate in your thoughts and prayers, and do what you can to ease their path.

Cotton Washcloths for Family Shelters

Pick a color!  Look at this awesome mound of fabulous crocheted cotton washcloths from our friend Dianne L. from California.  I love the variety is sizes and colors.  Also click to enlarge, look how she tied them...doesn't that make a nice package look to them.  All the family shelters love getting these cotton washcloths.  They are used as people enter the system and have nothing to get a nice shower, they used in move out packages when folks move from shelter living into permanent housing as both washcloths and dishcloths.  They are always needed, and always well received.

Nice work Dianne, please keep up the good work.  Hope to see you here often on Bridge and Beyond.

June is slipper month, hope we get huge numbers of slippers.  We need slippers for men, women, and children.  Remember slippers should be made nice and thick (no loose stitches please).  Please check the slipper tab for ideas about how to use double yarn, or chunky yarn, or how to put 2 slippers together.

Donating Spring Colors

Such pretty pretty spring colors, if only it really were spring you'd see me doing a happy dance .  But, surely these pretty spring colored crocheted cotton washcloths will bring a smile to the face of those who receive them.  Click to enlarge the picture.  There aren't two sizes here, I just opened a few so you could see the nice work of our newest pair of helping hands, Dianne L from California.  If you can, look how she tied them.  She's folded them nicely in 4th's and tied them to stay that way.  Make a lovely presentation.  What a clever trick.  I need to remember this the next time I gift a cloth or two.

We're thrilled to have you join us Dianne and hope to see you often on Bridge and Beyond.  Please keep up the good work.

**Reminders:
March's focus is quilts and afghans, please see details in tab across the top of the blog.
Please rememeber to always include a note with your donation with your name and email addy.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
