Donations from Illinois to Help Ohio's Needy

Thank you Betty B from Illinois for this thoughtful donation.  Betty's crocheted and knitted 18 cotton washcloths, 13 squares, 2 hats, and a scarf.  What a nice selection.  Squares for ghans are on the left and cotton cloths on the right in the above picture.  Many thanks and please keep up the good work.

Betty vacuumed sealed her donations which allowed her to fit it in a much smaller box.  Now I'm not suggestion you all run out and purchase a vacuum sealer; but if you have one...you might enjoy using it for this purpose to use smaller boxes and save some on postage due to the smaller box.

Donations: 2012
Hats 953+2=955  (14 hats from the number we donated last year)
Scarves: 594+1=595 (124 scarves over what we donated last year)

Misc Items are not counted individually (such as personal care items, headbands, gators, yarn, wrist warmers/fingerless gloves, face-masks, neck warmers, t-shirts, soap, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrushes, hand and foot warmers Teddy Bears and footies etc)

**Please remember to ALWAYS include a note with your name and your email address in your donations.  I MUST be able to make contact with you, even if you wish to be anonymous.  I spend far too much time trying to determine who someone is; as I have no way of knowing if you've forgotten to include note or if you wish to be anonymous.  This problem seems to be growing...causing me to spend hours trying to play detective.  **

All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated, and all donations keep someone warm. We help, one stitch at a time. YOU truly DO make a difference. THANK YOU!

Donations from The Land of Lincoln

Thank you Betty B from The Land of Lincoln and The Prairie state of Illinois. Betty's our newest pair of helping hands. We're happy to have you join us and hope to see you here on The Bridge often. Betty donated 20 wonderful crocheted squares and 23 pairs of socks. Lots of feet will be warmed and these 20 squares will make friends soon with others in a afghan for Project "Welcome Home."

Wow folks look how close we're getting to our goals....I wondered if we might hit 500 scarves or 1,000 hats by the close of the year 2011. Only 17 hats needed, and 19 scarves to do that! Remember posts are written, placed in que, scheduled...so while you're reading this post in the year 2012, this one was written Dec 21st. All items received in the calendar year of 2011 are recording in that year....soooooooo 9 days left.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
