Local Donation Helps Ohio's Homeless

Thank you Laura J from right here in Columbus for this awesome and very generous donation.  Look at all these wonderful scarves!  Lots of different styles and colors.  I LOVE your color choices.  Most of these darker colors will work for either men or women.
AND she's also knitted cotton washcloths, neck gators, a mobious scarf, slippers, and a poncho...and hats!  She's been very busy.  Thanks also Laura for tagging hats and slippers with size.  We ask everyone to do, but not everyone remembers too.  Additionally, extra thanks for delivering this donation right to my house.  The real bonus, from my perspective is getting to visit.  Laura and I had a nice visit and talked about everything under the sun!  Always a pleasure

**stay turned for the remainder of her donation, you know how I like to limit the number of pictures in a post...so do swing back each and everyday.

I'm listing our end numbers from 2015 and will subtract our current number as means of keeping our goal in front of us.  I'll show the goal number in Red.  Let's strive not just to match last years numbers, but.........work towards even more.

2016 DONATIONS:
Hats:  377 -7=370
Scarves: 175 -10=165
Mittens/Gloves/Wrist Warmers: 105
Slippers: 104 -3 =101
Rain Poncho's:  105
Cotton Washcloths:  442 -8 = 434
Afghans:   18
Socks: 201
Cowls/Hoody Combo's, headbands:  11 -2=9
Shawls and shrugs, ponchos, sweaters & vests etc 1 -1=0
Misc: items like personal care and things don't fit into above categories aren't counted

Please note the category of shawl, shrugs, ponchos etc has reached our little goal, same as last year of 1.........but please please please.........don't let that stop you from making more of these items.

All donations regardless of size and number are valued. All donations are appreciated. The Power of One is awesome, and when we work together The Power of One becomes The Power of Many.

  1. It's inspiring to come to your blog and see pictures of what people are donating. I've been making hats for Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and chronicle my projects toward my goal of 200 items for Pine Ridge in 2016 on my blog. Though I don't have any hats to donate right now I do have some cotton washcloths that I'd love to donate if there is a postal mailing address that I can send them to. I used to live in Ohio but now live in Iowa...which is a bit too far to hand deliver.

    1. Just saw your post Laurie. If you look on the right side, across from the grand totals, you will see a form to email to Sandy. She will see the email and give you the address. Hope to see your washcloths soon in the pictures!

  2. What a wonderful donation Laura J! So glad you were able to hand deliver the items and visit with Sandy. I really like the color of the 3rd scarf from the left. This donation will sure keep lots of people warm this winter.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
