Second Crocheted Donation for Ohio Homeless

Thank you Patty C for this thoughtful donation helping to kick start our new year.  I LOVE the colors you've chosen.  A nice variety of hat sizes to fit both men and women.  Hats can be worn with the brim up and or down which also makes them pretty versatile size wise.

Many thanks and please keep up the good work.

I'm going to try something a little different with keeping our stats.  I'm listing our end numbers from 2015 and will subtract our current number as means of keeping our goal in front of us.  I'll show the goal number in Red.  Let's strive not match last years numbers, but.........work towards even more.  Thank you for all you do.  As time goes on, we won't see the year end numbers, we'll see the previous goal and subtract the new donation from it.  Hopefully we'll find this helpful and not too cumbersome...if so, we'll return to our previous format.

  1. These are great and love the colours! You know...it has been too long and I never did e-mail you about my hubby. So here we go right here:) He came from a very abusive father. His mother was also abused but never left him (Father left her). All the children suffered issues later on as a result of the extreme abuse. My hubby never did well in school and was labelled slow and stupid. To escape the life, he left home after he protected his mom from his dad. His mom had to take him off his dad because my hubby started punching him. He knew if he returned home, he may not make it so he ended up on the streets. He slept on benches, in parks and, on occasion at the Salvation Army. He was drifting and was also a bad boy as he did some B & E. He got caught and fought the police which ended him in prison for 2 yrs. Those 2 yrs changed his life. he no longer wanted to be so angry especially at his father so he got counselling. When he got out, he went out West and found jobs and finally worked for 23 yrs in the oil fields. His mom passed away from cancer while he was out there but he did see her and forgave her. He came back to be near his sister and brother. later I entered the picture. He worked for years, had his ups and downs and was found to suffer from severe classic Adult ADHD. His father contacted him once before and he would not talk with him but 1 1/2 yrs ago found out he was dying so he decided to let the anger go and meet him. It was a closure for him and his sister. The other brother still has many issues and the 4th brother got into drugs due to the father and has been missing for several years and is believed to be dead. the sister hired a PI to find him to no avail. My hubby is a real artist(how we met). He works on straight grained mahogany and burns in the images to create beautiful works that look like tapestry. He is a kind soul who has immense strength to beat the odds

  2. What a store that your husband has Birgit. I am so glad he was able to have closure in his life. The woodworking that he does sounds beautiful.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
