May The Force be with You

Another fun yarn yuk I spotted on Facebook that I wanted to share with you all.  It's funny how things involving yarn have changed over the last 10 years.  When  I first started crocheting, no one did it and there was very little choice beyond Red Heart Knitted Worsted Weight Yarns.  Now tons of folks knit and crochet, not just grandmothers, lol.  You can even buy fun t-shirts to support your craft.  We've come a long way!

    CUTE SHIRT. yes, crocheting and knitting seem to have made a comeback in popularity, if they ever left. Nearly everywhere you go where people are waiting you will see at least a couple pull out yarn. There are numerous adult education places here in the city that are offering crocheting as part of the classes they offer, and I could list several restaurants and libraries that allow crochet clubs to come and sit and crochet for the afternoon. I even have a friend who says that if you are making prayer shawls you can do it during the sermon at her church.A hobby not just for grammas anymore and not just for the ladies. Beautiful work being produced by men also. Nice calm way of passing the time while sitting with friends or making new ones. Good stress reliever. I know my cats want to learn they are always trying to help.:+)

    So nicely said Marj. I wasn't aware of groups at restaurants, but then I'm not there during the day, so probably just haven't become aware of it.

    love the shirt. you are right sandy, when i first started crocheting i learned on red heart. i still love it even though i like other yarns too.

    Cute shirt. I am glad your cats are wanting to learn and are "helping" you Marj. I have only one cat that is sometimes interested in helping me knit. The other cat isn't into crafts.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
