Appreciating Your Thoughtful Donations

Thank you Mary S for this thoughtful and generous donation.  Mary has knitted scarves, hats, cotton washcloths and cowl/hoods.  Please click to see the details and textures in her scarves, really quite nice.  Mary I LOVE LOVE these hood cowl things...I'm not sure what to call them.  Could you tell us what pattern you used when knitting these?  Folks if you'd not seen these, let me try to explain you put it on like a cowl...nice thick and warm around your neck, but you can pull it up around your head and it makes a wonderful warm hood, and still your neck is covered.

Special thanks too Mary for tagging all your hats with size, much appreciated.

Many thanks and please keep up the good work Mary!

  1. THANKS MARY. Great choices of colors. also liked the cowls. They remind me of something called the one skein cowl in a beginners book I had once, except this would be two skeins Nice thick yarn and a big hook..Fun and quick to make. Could actually be used by both men and women I suppose in the cold would keep it all together and warm. Good Job Mary. Like the cute little hats too, and the pale blue scarf is lovely.
Start of the rainy season here:+) Rain the rest of the week. Not good if you are living outside. GOD BLESS THE HOMELESS. marj in minnesota

    1. Thank you Marj for your sweet supportive comments. I'm not sure if a man would wear one of those hoody things, but ...it made in dark colors maybe? I need to check with Rae and will post her thoughts.

  2. I do hope Mary shares the knitting instructions for the cowl. I wouldn't mind making some of those for myself as well as the homeless.

    1. Mary sent me an email after I scheduled this post, will find it and go back and edit to include the pattern. I so agree Betty I would like one myself, as well as making them for the homeless.

  3. You are probably right Sandy.I guess I was thinking more of warmth then appearance. Just liked the thoughts of that nice scarf turning into a hoodie even under a hat. Maybe would have to make it a little closer to the head and not so thick. Will have to experiment. GOD BLESS THE HOMELSS. marj in minnnesota

    1. Blue is such a great color, it works for both men and women so it's always a good choice. And the dark blues don't show dirt which is another nice plus. Thank you for your visits and comments.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
