Slipper, Socks, Poncho's aid the Homeless

Thank you AnneMarie for your on going support of Bridge and Beyond.  AnneMarie has been with us for a good while and is always very generous and very supportive.  She's crocheted 10 pairs of slippers in various sizes, and labeled them with size.  She also included personal care items in her donation for the homeless, as well as poncho's.  The plastic poncho's are always so well received.  Trying to stay dry, even when the weather's warmer isn't all that easy to do when you're out in the elements.

And wet feet, never good so the socks she also donated are awesome.  As always, many thanks and please keep up the good work AnneMarie!

**Reminder folks to avoid using novelty yarns and suede, avoid using white, beige and other pastels, avoid lots of stripes (solids are always better for all ages), avoid bright colors as homeless do not like to call attention to themselves (with the outside garmets like hats and scarves)...so the nice darker colors are always preferred AND they don't show the dirt as much.  Please label all hats, mittens, and slippers with size.**

New Helping Hands aid Ohio's Homeless.

Thank you Jen C for this thoughtful donation and for your special delivery, both are greatly appreciated.   Jen is our newest pair of helping hands.  We LOVE having more helping hands and are thrilled to have you join us.  We look forward to seeing you here often on Bridge and Beyond with wonderful skills.  Many thanks!  Please keep up the good work.  Jen has also included some personal care items.

Folks things have been really quiet here on the blog, as I've been working alot more hours and trying to squeeze in lots of walking time to help with the arthritis in my knee.  I'm happy to say it's helping, swelling down and pain level is better; but it does take time and I'm in need of catching up here on Bridge and Beyond and with you all all.

I hope you're all enjoying your summer, and keeping your yarn, hooks and needles close at hand.  Many thanks for all you do to help Ohio's homeless and those in need.  The cause is great.

Crocheted Donations for Those in Need

Thank you, Thank you Gail B.  Gail has been a long time and very generous supporter for Bridge and Beyond.  Many thanks for all you do Gail, truly it is greatly appreciated.  Gail does such beautiful work, and always thinks about our Men who often get so much less then the women and children.  Gail has crocheted and donated hats, scarves...many of which are matching sets.  She's included personal care items.

And she's included socks.  This is such a nice variety in colors for both men and women, colors that blend so nicely with a variety of coat colors AND, they aren't colors that stand out.  This is something so very much appreciated by the men and women living in the elements and in the shelters.  Not standing out with bright colors can often help them with being protected.

As always, PLEASE keep up the good work Gail B.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
