Dynamic Duo, Sisters Donate to Help Homeless

Food for thought

Folks I spotted this a while back on the net and wanted to share with you all who help through Bridge and Beyond.  Homeless people do have feelings, they have a face, they have a name and deserve to be treated with kindness and dignity.  I know you all who aid the cause here at Bridge and Beyond feel the same way.

Keep your yarn, hands, hooks, and needles busy folks.  We're still experiences nights in the low 40's here.  We will continue to supply Rae who cares for folks under the Bridges as well as the various shelters.  Our work is always needed, and appreciated.

On this Memorial Day, know that some of the items you knit or crochet are donated to a Veteran.  Sadly, many Veterans, to whom we owe so much end up homeless.  And like this man says, they are not Bums.

Knitted Cotton Washcloths with a Pocket!

Thank you, Thank you Sue F for this thoughtful donation and your ongoing wonderful support of Ohio's cold and homeless.  Sue has a real potpourri of goodies here for those in need.  Sue has knitted mittens (she me dancing...you know how excited I get when we get mittens!), hats, and cotton washcloths.  Please click to enlarge (though I tried to make this picture larger then normal) to check out the details...she's knitted a washcloth with a cool cool pocket where a bar of soap and more will fit.  What a fabulous idea!

Sue's also included lots of personal care items.........these are always needed, summer, winter, spring and fall by all the shelters as well as those living on streets that we care for.

Woot Woot!  People who help the homeless with their skilled hands and yarn make me smile.  Thank you Annemarie from New York, once again for your thoughtfulness with the vast donation of crocheted goodies.  If you've been reading this blog while you know Annemarie is a wonderful supportor giving us her time and talent.

These has, slippers, scarves, and mittens will put many smiles on faces of people less fortunate then us.  We physical warm people with our crafted donations certainly.  But, we also warm their souls when they know someone they didn't know took time to hand make something special for them.

Though it is spring (and now the font changes back?), it is still cold here many days and nights.  Sitting inside right now with cold feet and a fleece on if that gives you any ideas.  Donations are still needed.  So thanks to all whom are keeping their yarn and hands busy.
