Thank you Sue F, Clapping for Mittens

Thank you Sue F for this awesome donation of mittens, slippers, and scarves.  All necessary items that are so very much appreciated.  Big special thanks too for tagging slippers and mittens with size.  Your mittens are so nicely made.........I always get excited when we get mittens, as they're just not something we can all make.  Well done, please keep up the good work.

And with this post, I am now current with all the goodies that came in during hubby and my vacation to Hilton Head.......where sadly it ended up being almost as cold as here in Ohio.  Sooooooooo bizarre for that area where normally he can even go golfing in the winter months.  If you'd like a break, want to take a virtual no packing no laundry type vacation, hop over to my travel blog.  Traveling Suitcase

  1. THANKS SUE for the gift of mittens and slippers. They are so pretty and someone will be very happy to have them. Sandy is right we dont get alot of mittens, or slippers either for that matter.
We did get buried yesterday here in Minnesota. The clean up will probably take all weekend. It is supposed to get very cold again too. Not a good time of the year although the whole winter has been one storm after another all over the country. Thank you for helping the homeless. You are appreciated . GOOD JOB.

  2. Sue-thank you so much for this wonderful donation! I love to make mittens too and am wondering which is your favorite pattern. Or perhaps you have many you like? I have not attempted slippers but hope to do so in the future. Do you have a favorite pattern for slippers? Your work is super! I know whoever receives these will be so much warmer and very proud to wear them! Thanks for sharing your time and talent to help the homeless and working poor! Keep your needles flying!

  3. Thank you everyone! I'm glad to be able to help and to have a place that will make good use of my donations.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I have called several different local shelters and left messages saying I had new items to donate and no one ever calls me back. Ever! So I was grateful to find Sandy and her gang who make sure the items get to people in need.

I make the mittens on double pointed needles. I can send the pattern to Sandy and maybe she can post it? The slipper pattern is from the slippers tab here. I think it says something about Rav.

  4. I agree with you Sue. It is amazing how many people are begging for help and when you contact them they want money.or do not return your calls. I donate to Viet Nam Vets and Wounded Warriors for that very reason they get things where they are needed.. They take new and used. I do however prefer to donate actual items that I have made. I donate to Indian Reservations for that reason too. Thanks again for finding us.

  5. Thank you ladies for your visits, and sweet comments and such nice support of each other. I too love that we hand delivery and we know these items reach the people we want to reach. I've had some not to satisfying ventures with trying to be charitable previously too. In fact, it's one of the reasons I started this blog and mission some 5 years ago...or was it 6? Thank you all for joining me

  6. I agree with all your comments ladies. I found places where I previously sent items never even let me know whether or not they even arrived. Or as you said Sue they just wanted money! Then I found B&B! Thank goodness! I am so happy to know my items go to folks who really need them. Thank you Sandy for all you do!

  7. Very nice donation Sue F. I have never made mittens, so I am so glad to see when mittens are made and donated here. We didn't get your snow Marj here in lower part of MI. But very windy. We are to get very cold again this coming week. I am thankful for this great group and being able to know that the items I make go to people who need them.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
