Potpourri

I dumped squares to do some more designing the other day.  Reaching back into my mish mosh stash and came up with this.  As you can see, these are teeny little squares/circles of various sizes that I've had for quite some time.  Some, before I started Bridge and Beyond even.   Potpourri popped right into my head as a good name for this one.

In years past folks would send their odds and ends, sometimes when a group disbanded or got things they couldn't work with, or that didn't mean their requirements with size and or color.  I'm not a fan of using lots of white because afghans get used so much and white gets dirty.  Taking an afghan to the laundromat probably not high on their list...though I have lots of white on hand, and can see this in white....leaning towards black or maybe blue to edge and join.  I might have enough shades of blue to make it work, but would need to purchase black...so will give this some thought before tackling this one.

Potpouri is the only name for this one, and I agree that blue or black would be the colors to use. These squares remind me of a group here that does squares for Warm up Minnesota that I have been asked to join. They make blankets for the homeless out of any squares you want to knit or crochet ,part of a crochet class i am taking.Good luck with this one I like it.

  2. Looks like a big job ahead.....but well worth your time and effort. Lots of squares but I can picture it with either blue or black also. I think it will be stunning! I know your hook will be flying now Sandy! Can't wait to see the finished product!

  4. That will be a very pretty afghan when it is done. Blue or black would be good to finish it with.

  5. Perhaps if you choose white, it could go to one of the shelters for someone who is moving into their new home. No matter how you finish it, it will be lovely.

  6. Thanks all for the visits, comments and opinions, much appreciated. CrochetnQuilt, all the afghans go to those moving into their home from the shelters as part of their welcome home package, but still most don't have the ability to do laundry easily. Going to a laundromat to wash a ghan would be pretty difficult. Thus my reluctance to use white.

  7. I agree that the name is perfect for this one. I still think it should be joined with white or black though...it just seems to fit.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
