Knitted Hats for the Homeless, Thank You Marie P.

Thank you Marie P from Tennessee, birth place of my childhood Hero Davy Crockett for these awesome knitted hats.  Marie's knitted a couple of different styles here and a 2nd thank you for tagging them so nicely with the size.  That is so appreciated by the shelters as the separate items to know whom to give them to.

Folks I really need to ask you all to tag your items, hats, mittens, and slippers should all be tagged.  These little white tags on strings work well, but you can also cut  squares of paper and use a safety pin to tag your items.  Another idea is to hold punch your squares and use a piece of yarn to tie the tag onto the item.

Donations need to be removed from plastic bags/ziplock  bags etc so sizes written on those bags doesn't assist the shelters getting things matched up correctly.  Scarves do not need to be sized.  That's something easily looked at to determine whether it's for a child, teen, or adult.

Let me once again encourage EVERYONE to visit, to read, to stay current with the right size, color etc. of items needed.  Changes happen based on need.  Please stay current so you don't spend time making something that doesn't serve our needs.  AND, please don't be shy.  Post comments, take time and cheer each other on and admire each others work.  We all enjoy that.  It is easy, you do not need to be a blogger to leave a comment.

    Thanks Marie for the beautiful hats you knitted. I especially like the blue one. These will make four heads warmer, and even in this early spring i am sure they are needed. I know I still feel the chill and a warm wool hat would be appreciated. GOOD JOB.

    Marie thanks so much for these great hats.....I love them. Would you mind telling what patterns you used? I would love to try this pattern. Now not only will more folks be warm but they will also be right in fashion too!
