Mickey Mouse

personal care packageThis is one of 8 cotton packs sewn and donated by our newest pair of helping hands, Carol S from Indiana. I put some of her other donated items inside to take an up close photo so you could see the bag easier, then it was laying flat with all the other donations. However, something happened to the photo with everything laying out. When I transferred photo's from the camera to the computer...argh.

She donated 11 hats, 3 pairs of mittens and 8 cute bags that I plan to use for personal care packages. There were a couple of pretty flowered ones, and these cute cute cute Mickey Mouse ones. Adorable and very practical.

I'll add soap, hand made cotton washcloths, toothbrushes, toothpaste etc to these and they'll go to The Homeless Families Foundation as part of the Welcome Home Project. As families move from their temporary housing into permanent housing, they'll receive an afghan made from our squares/and or full ghans donated; along with a personal care pouch to help them celebrate the move.

I'm sorry you all don't get to see the hats, they were knit and so nicely made; as were the mittens. I would gladly re-photograph them, but since posts are written and in que, by the time this was written the items had already been donated.

  1. What a great idea! And I just want to say that although I like seeing what everyone has done, the really important part is that the people who NEED the items get them - so from that perspective, I'm glad they've already been donated - because the fall chill is definitely here this morning!

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
