Mittens, Mittens!!!

10 Fabulous pairs of mittens, all knitted from Jean out in Wisconsin. Many many thanks Jean. Jean says in her note that she knits these with sock yarn. She uses two skeins of unrelated sock yarn and I LOVE the way they've turned out. Such fun colors and such a fun variety.

Two wonderfully colorful scarves, the striped one is knitted, the scalloped one is crocheted. What a fun idea to change colors every row; but crochet lengthwise for a totally different look.
Many thanks Jean. I'll get these delivered in the next couple of days and know 20 hands will be warmer and happier. (forgot I also wondered what pattern you used for the stripped knitted scarf, love the texture).

Are your mittens made with DP's Jean, or straight needles?

Hats 368
Mittens 56 pairs + 10 = 66
Scarves 138 + 2 = 140
Socks 79 pair

This is post #103
(our first year anniversary was on Dec 2)
Keep knitting and crocheting, thanks to all

Oophs, just realized I missed one pair of mittens. So here's a nice close up. Look at the colors, aren't they great!

  3. Both scarves and those mittens are so pretty. Love the patterns and yarn that was used. I love that you have reached out and are helping keep the homeless warm. Such a blessing to those guys!
I popped over through the Ravelry site, Sharing Our Gifts. So glad I did!

  6. So many pretties. I made a hat out of sock yarn and though it took a very long time, much longer than a hat in worsted yarn, it worked well and I think came out quite nicely.

  7. I've done the same thing Sandie. I think I did double it a time or two too.

  9. Mittens aren't my strong suit, but am determined to keep trying and see if I can't get better, they are so needed.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.
