Three Hundred and Twenty-Five

With this 2nd crocheted navy scarf I finished last night we as a group have knitted and crocheted and donated 325 warm items. We physically and mentally warm those in need, those who have less then we do. Physically, certainly thats obviously. One puts on a hat, a scarf, a pair of mittens they will be physically warmer. Mentally, I believe the love that goes into each and every stitch reaches out in a way that gives the receiver a warm internal feeling. A feeling that lets them know they are not alone, they are not forgotten. They are cared for.

This scarf finishes up my skein of Caron Pounder and is scarf #104.

Goals:

Hats 178 (22 needed to reach goal of 200)
Mittens 43 pairs (57 need to reach goal of 100)
Scarves 104 (96 needed to reach goal of 200)

Please keep your hands and fingers busy ladies. Though it is now summer, we here in Central Ohio have had a much colder and wetter month of July then normal. In fact, just the other day on the news they reported this is our 4th coldest July on record! While normally hats etc might not be worn by people in the month of July, I'm willing to bet some of this warm items are indeed used by these homeless folks at night when the air is damp and cooler without a roof over their heads to keep out the elements.

As always thanks for all the hard work, and please keep up the effort.

AVERY SPECIAL THANKS to all who signed my niece, Janet's dedication page. If you've not had a chance to read the post, click here, please.

  1. I'm willing to bet this winter is going to be horrible so the more hats and scarves the better. I saw Rae on Saturday. She and Jeff brought two of their dogs up to the barn to visit Tango.

I'll see her again on Thursday. I think she has all the hats that you have given me so far.

Thank you and everyone for all your efforts. In addition to keeping others warm, I know your hearts must glow from the knowledge that you're helping someone else.

Where are You and Your Yarn From?

I'm trying to identify where everyone is from, partially for fun. Take a look at the map. Also, believe it will aid me in cases where we have several people with the same name. Please look at the lists of bloggers and non bloggers and see if I have the state you hail from. If not, please leave a comment and let me know.

Additionally, we've had help from Scotland, England, Germany Puerto Rico, Canada, and France! They don't appear on the map, but their help is still greatly appreciated.

Where The People Who Donate Come From, is your state represented?
